Considering that Sun Moon Lake and Xitou are two of Nantou County's most important tourist destinations, and there are already Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes for both of them (promoted by the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration, Tourism Bureau, M.O.T.C.). An effort was made to enhance the convenience for tourists to travel between these two regions by offering travelers cross-regional travel route options. The existing bus routes from Sun Moon Lake to Xitou have been integrated into the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle service through brand partnership. This step aims to create a connection between the two major attractions of Sun Moon Lake and Xitou, allowing travelers to plan more in-depth journeys that span across these two regions. For travelers departing from Taichung, they can choose between the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Xitou Route or the Sun Moon Lake Route to first explore one of these regions and then use this route to move on to the next region, passing by well-known attractions like the JI JI Town Business District and Zinan Temple. This “Golden Triangle” travel route is exceptionally convenient. This route, alongside the Puli Route, Sun Moon Lake Route, and Xitou Route, creates a unified Taiwan Tourist Shuttle network connecting Nantou County's routes.
