Beigang River Route (6653C)

語音報站
Beigang River Route

The Nantou County Government has been actively promoting tourism in Caotun Township and along the Beigang River Route. The new route extends the existing route between Caotun and Atayal Resort all the way to HSR Taichung Station. The first stop along the route is the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute. The 6-hectare site is divided into five main galleries, namely the Craft Exhibition Hall, Craft Design Hall, Craft Information Hall, Craftsmanship Hall, and Regional Craft Hall. In addition to the conservation of Taiwanese craftsmanship and culture, there are also a variety of DIY workshops that can be incorporated into an in-depth our of sights along the route. Yuhsiu Museum can be reached via Xiapinglin stop. The architecture of this private art museum at the foot of Mt. Jiujiu in Caotun, Nantou County, is itself a work of art that has won major architectural awards. The 99 Peaks Helium Balloon Theme Park, planned and developed by Nantou County, is also nearby. The park should attract many family visitors once it opens. At Guoxing Township, there are many sights near the route, including the Chan Chi Shan Hsien Buddhist Temple. The Japanese-style hand-washing pagoda and stone lanterns give it a Kyoto ambiance. The serene and idyllic atmosphere makes the temple well worth visiting for those wishing to explore or get close to nature. The 92 Cafe in Guoxing Township is well worth visiting too. Here you can taste boutique Guoxing coffee that has won numerous international awards. Other sights include the Hakka-style Nuomi Bridge, the Atayal Resort to learn about indigenous culture, as well as the hot springs on the Beigang River.
